Multiplying Wilds Slots

How Multiplying Wilds Boost Payouts

A multiplying wild is a wild symbol with a win multiplier attached, commonly x2 to x5 in the base game and higher in bonuses. Any combination the wild participates in is multiplied by its value; combinations that do not touch the wild are unaffected.

The critical rule is how several multiplier wilds interact within one win. Implementations split roughly evenly between adding the values and multiplying them together, and the difference is enormous: two x3 wilds mean x6 in an additive game and x9 in a multiplicative one. The in-game paytable states which rule applies.

Multiplying wilds anchor many bonus designs, especially combined with Sticky Wilds inside Free Spins, where locked multipliers compound over the round. They are also the usual payload of Walking Wilds that grow stronger with each step.

Keep the feature apart from general win Multipliers, which apply to spins or cascades regardless of wild involvement, and from Increasing Multipliers, which grow over a sequence of events rather than being fixed to a symbol. The base behaviour is documented under Wild Symbols.
