About the Reactoonz Series

Reactoonz is Play’n GO‘s alien-themed Cluster Pays series, launched in 2017 as a successor to the studio’s earlier grid experiments. Games play on a 7×7 grid where clusters of 5 or more touching symbols pay and cascade away.

The original’s engine is the Quantum Leap meter. Every cleared symbol charges it, and each full charge releases one of several features: extra wilds, symbol transformations, or grid-wide destruction. Filling all charges summons the Gargantoon, a 3×3 wild that splits into smaller wilds as it is used, which is where the game’s largest chains come from. A marked fluctuating symbol adds to the loop by leaving wilds behind when it is cleared in a win.

Reactoonz 2 restructured the energy economy around Fluctometer and Quantumeter charges and wild electricity, trading raw chaos for a longer build-up, while spin-offs such as Dr Toonz revisit the same creatures in new formats. The family’s visual language, one-eyed blobs and cascading energy, stays constant throughout.

The series remains the reference for meter-driven cluster design: nearly every 7×7 cascade slot released since borrows its loop of cleared symbols charging features, and the original is still Play’n GO’s best-known grid game.
