Gigablox Slots

How Gigablox Symbols Pay

Gigablox is a reel mechanic from Yggdrasil in which oversized symbols land as solid blocks, from 2×2 up to 6×6 depending on the game. A giant block is not a single symbol: for win evaluation it counts as the equivalent number of regular-size symbols, so a 3×3 block contributes three symbols on each of three reels.

Because evaluation stays ways-based, giant blocks can massively inflate a single combination, particularly when a block lands partially on screen and the game nudges it fully into view. The paytable itself is unchanged; the mechanic works purely through symbol quantity.

Gigablox titles usually run on tall grids with high ways counts, and pair the blocks with Wild Symbols that can also appear oversized, plus Free Spins where minimum block sizes are often guaranteed. The underlying win logic is standard Ways to Win.

The mechanic is easy to distinguish from grid-changing systems: Megaways and Dynamic Reels alter the reel structure itself, while Gigablox keeps the grid fixed and changes the size of what lands on it. Symbol-splitting systems such as Split Symbols work in the opposite direction, multiplying small symbols out of one position.
