How Scatter Pays Wins Are Counted

Scatter Pays removes positional rules entirely: the game counts how many matching symbols are on screen, and paying starts once the count reaches a threshold, most often 8 or more on a 6×5 grid. Where the symbols land is irrelevant, so no lines, ways or touching requirements apply.

Paytables in Scatter Pays games are banded by count: for example 8-9 symbols pay one amount, 10-11 more, and 12+ the top band. Because the mechanic needs many symbols on screen, it almost always runs on large grids and is paired with Tumble & Cascading Reels, letting one spin chain several wins as new symbols drop in.
